Fiachra de hOra

Viola player Fiachra de hOra has been praised for his openness of expression and artistic freedom. He has featured at the Clandeboye, Ortús, and Westport Chamber Music Festivals and was invited to the Prussia Cove Open Chamber Music sessions in 2023. He is a member of the Gealán Quartet with whom he gave a concert tour of Ireland in 2021 and 2023 and were featured artists with a residency at the Irish Cultural Centre Paris.They will tour again in 2024 and 2025 in association with the National String Quartet Foundation.

He completed his bachelor studies in 2023 with Marjolein Dispa and Nobuko Imai, having previously studied with Ronald Masin and Simon Aspell in Dublin. He won 3rd prize in the 6th National Dutch Viola Competition, and won the popular vote for his concerto performance with the Conservatorium van Amsterdam Symphony Orchestra. He has performed Walton viola concerto with the Ulster Orchestra, and also performed solo with Camerata Ireland and the YES Chamber Orchestra.
