Georgina Cassidy

Pianist

Georgina Cassidy is a much sought after collaborative pianist from Gortroe, Cork. After graduating with the highest results of her year and being awarded the 2020 BMus Student of the Year from the Cork Institute of Technology, she moved to London to study Piano Accompaniment in the Guildhall School of Music and Drama with Caroline Palmer. She is currently a student of the Extended Guildhall Artist master's where she has completed her Graduate Certificate and MMus degree. She is now undertaking her MPerf and has been awarded a scholarship from Guildhall to assist in her studies this year. 

Since moving to London she has been in high demand as an accompanist in the UK and has given recitals in the UK, Republic of Ireland and the Netherlands. In the last year she has performed in Wigmore Hall, Milton Court, Princess Alexandria Hall ROSL, St Saviours Pimlico, Leighton House, and Conservatoire Von Amsterdam. She has also had coaching sessions with artists such as Dr Bretton Brown, Stephan Loges, Lada Valešová and Iain Burnside on song projects in Guildhall as part of her studies there. 

She was recently awarded the accompanist prize sponsored by Irish Heritage for her performance with cellist Cormac Ó Briain in Wigmore Hall and recently gave a recital with the Blackwater Valley Opera Festival in Salterbridge House with the other bursary winners as part of the prize.

As well as an award winning pianist, Georgina has also won awards for her composition work. She is a two time finalist for the Finding a Voice Composition Competition, was awarded Best Composition Portfolio for her undergraduate work, has had her arrangements and compositions broadcast on Irish National Radio (RTÉ Lyric FM) and has had improvisation collaborations with her past teacher Santa Ignace.
