Michael Hughes

Michael is a composer and guitarist born in Birmingham UK to Irish parents. He is currently studying for his Doctorate in composition at the Royal College of Music with William Mival and Andrew Hamilton, where he was awarded the Frank Bridge Studentship. Michael was selected for the Psappha ensemble 20/21 'composing for' scheme, the Cheltenham Composers Academy 2021 and his first chamber opera was premiered in 2022 by Tête à Tête opera company.
